Day 1

City Center Ancient Vibes & Nightlife

Chunxi Road → Taikoo Li → Daci Temple → Tangba Street → Wangping Street → Jiuyan Bridge → Kuixing Lou Street

Chunxi Road to Tangba Street is all walkable. From Wangping Street onward, take a taxi or transit (¥8-15 per leg, 8-25 min each). End the night at Kuixing Lou Street — Chengdu's late-night food HQ.

Day 2

Pandas + Culture + Evening Show

Giant Panda Base → Eastern Suburbs Memory → Yulin Road → Wuhou Shrine → Jinli → Wenshu Monastery → Shu Feng Ya Yun (Sichuan Opera)

Panda Base to Eastern Suburbs Memory is about 40 min by subway. After Yulin Road, taxi between remaining spots (¥10-18 each). Jinli is right next to Wuhou Shrine — walk between them.

Day 3

History & Slow Living

Chengdu Museum → People's Park → Kuanzhai Alley → Du Fu Thatched Cottage → Huanhua Creek Park → Qingyang Palace → Qintai Road

The museum is a 10-min walk from People's Park. Huanhua Creek Park connects directly to Du Fu Cottage — walk through. Other segments are short taxi rides (¥10-15).

• Zheng 228 Chongqing Old Hotpot (Chunxi Road) — Beef tallow base that gets better the longer it boils. Slaughterhouse tripe and fresh duck blood are must-orders. Sesame oil + raw garlic dip is the soul of it.
• Duo Ye Stir-Fried Snails (Yulin Road) — Snails and dry-roast frog, eyes closed, just order. Wok-fired flavor, massive portions, you'll need to be rolled out.
• Street Guokui — Freshly baked, crispy outside, soft inside. Savory sprout + minced pork filling is king. With soy milk for breakfast = perfection.
• Egg Cakes (蛋烘糕) — ¥5 street stall snacks. Sweet: cream + Oreo. Savory: spicy beef. Both work.

1. Panda Base: DON'T buy the sightseeing car. Walking covers the core area in under an hour — go early instead.
2. Kuanzhai Alley + Jinli: browse only, skip the food stalls. Kuixing Lou Street and Yulin Road are where locals actually eat.
3. Hotpot: Don't order "mild." Chengdu mild = outsider medium spicy. If you can't handle heat, say "Guangdong spicy" (广东辣) — they'll understand.
4. Museums & Panda Base: book 1-3 days ahead — peak season walk-ups are impossible.
