🏘️ Stay Near Bell Tower
All three routes radiate from the central old town. Bell Tower area is ideal for easy access to everything.
Day 1 — Museums, Walls & Muslim Quarter
碑林 → 永宁门（城墙登墙或护城河散步）→ 书院门 → 府学巷 → 钟鼓楼 → 回民街（晚饭）
Climb Yongning Gate to look out across old and new Xi'an, or stroll the moat with a coffee ☕. Shuyuanmen, Sanxue Street, and Fuxue Lane connect seamlessly — vintage trinkets, calligraphy, paintings. The fridge magnets here are the cheapest in the city! Take your time browsing the stalls.
Day 2 — Hidden Alleys & Local Markets 🥹
小南门早市 → 湘子庙 → 德福巷 → (城隍庙) → 广济街 → 光明巷 → 西仓 → 洒金桥 → 莲湖公园
Defu Lane — quirky indie shops, day-coffee-night-bar street, incredibly photogenic! There's even a photo studio for Polaroids and film 🎞️.
Walk 600m from Defu Lane to Guangji Street — a surprise local snack alley hidden in a residential area, not in any guidebook!
Another 200m to Guangming Lane — a charming old bookshop + café tucked in the alley. Worth the detour.
Thread through residential lanes to reach Xicang Art District — fruit stalls, hole-in-the-wall restaurants, used book stands... then proper art shops. Deep local Chengdu vibes.
Day 3 — Temples, Pagodas & Film Studio
大兴善寺 → 小雁塔（博物馆）→ 大雁塔 → 西安电影制片厂 → 大唐芙蓉园
Daxingshan Temple — the cats are legendary! 🐈 Dozens of friendly cats of all breeds. The temple's cat-themed gift shop has blind boxes, lucky bags... Cat lovers, prepare to lose your wallet. The temple grounds are beautiful — serene and perfect for zoning out.
Xi'an Film Studio — A converted old film factory with live music, markets, art restaurants, and the original industrial vibe intact. Perfect for an afternoon stroll — then walk straight to Tang Paradise for the night view!
